Training
SC.GMIS does not endorse any training company or organization. However, as a service to our membership we try to provide the names and contact information for those companies that our leadership has worked with personally. If you have the name of a training company that you have worked with that you would like to suggest, please contact our VP of Communication.
Computer Training
PST
: PST is a Charleston based training company that many of us have worked with for years. They offer most Microsoft training courses as well as leadership-type training. Ingrid Tugwell is presenting at the 2009 Leadership Summit.
Project Management Training
PM One
: PM One offer five day "PMP Prep" courses to prepare project managers for the PMP certification exam, as well as interactive / hands-on one and two day "PM 101" workshops. PM One also a great list of project management resources on their site.
PMLG, Inc
: Project Management Leadership Group has sent speakers to our workshops as well as our Leadership Summits. PMLG is considered one of the leading authorities on the concept of Project Management Offices (PMO), and conducts the popular IPOS each year in Savannah.
Leadership & Change
Horizons Consulting Group
: Sheri Callahan has worked with many state agencies helping them deal with change. She presented at the 2008 Leadership Summit and is scheduled to present again in 2009. Her dynamic and engaging style of leading makes her a good candidate when you need to bring big changes to your organization.
UNC School of Government
: UNC worked with the GMIS leadership team several years ago to create a set of standards and a curriculum for some
CIO certification programs
. Four programs are being offered that fall under the international standards for certification. 1. National GMIS CGCIO Program 2. SC CGCIO Program offered in conjunction with Municipal Association of SC 3. NC CGCIO Program held at UNC School of Government 4. NC State Agency CGCIO Program held at UNC School of Government.
